fire fight

I hear the sirens
With my adrenaline pumping
The people screaming

Through the smoke I crawl
Hoping not to breach a wall
Stay calm and focused

There’s a job to do
Listen for the faintest cry
And hope they survive

Opening the door
The heat is beyond intense
Work has just commenced
